J/W: blonde "Bird Man" is still at it in Freedom Park in Little Five Pts......he sold the "Great Speckled Bird"......still wears back pack...Swami Don
ReplyDelete2 more bands from WRAS days Vinegar Joe and Strawbs.
ReplyDeleteAnd I think the blond guys name that sold the sex mag was Tom. If he is still with us he is one of the great survivors. He looked tough back in the day.
Yep...I play Vinegar Joe's "Never Met A Dog" every few months and dedicate it to Jim Morrison, the former PD of WRAS around 1973. I pull out some Strawbs too...good stuff from the old days!
ReplyDeleteDennis Eavenson writing this. Love your program.Overheard you commenting about one of the sidewalk sellers of the Bird on the old Hippie district in those counter culture days. We have a Facebook group that specifically about that era & music here in Atlanta with quite a few participants contributing with memories an photos of the period. Check it out. Many photos of the district from that period. Name of Facebook group Atlanta 60's music scene. Link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/398266586949990/
